Recent developments and “innovations” on Indonesian airlines’ websites in flight reconfirmation and online check-in.
One of the more frequently asked questions Mau Ke Mana receives is “Do I need to reconfirm my flight?”
Five years ago when almost all tickets were paper tickets, it was definitely a good idea. These days, you can do it yourself for most airlines by going to the airline’s website.
In addition, three airlines – Garuda Indonesia, Lion Air and Air Asia – now offer online check-in between 4 and 24 hours in advance. It is free and optional for Garuda Indonesia and Lion Air, but Air Asia is taking it to a new level:

To encourage passengers to use its online check-in service, Air Asia now charges a fee of Rp30 000 ($US3.50, € 2,50) per passenger who checks in at the airport.
Below is a guide about how to reconfirm flights and – where possible – check-in online.

Smaller airlines e.g. Trigana Air, TransNusa, Kal-Star do not offer online check-in or reconfirmation services on their websites.

Sorry to say, the client cannot do it directly, because it requires a login and we can’t let you see other passenger’s data for privacy reasons.
ONLINE CHECK-IN
To avoid the Rp30 000 fee, we will complete the online check-in process straight after issuing the tickets. (Please note that seat selection is already done when the ticket is purchased). We will then forward the boarding passes as a pdf/Acrobat Reader file to the client.
UPDATE: DECEMBER 2012
AirAsia has reduced how far in advance that passengers can check-in online. It used to be as soon as the ticket was issued. Now it is:
For all return flights upon booking confirmed 14 days to 1 hour for AirAsia (AK, QZ, FD, PQ, JW) and 14 days to 4 hours for AirAsiaX (D7) before their flight.

UPDATE:
Effective 15 February 2012, all Citilink passengers must pay between Rp25 000 (online) and Rp50 000 (at airport) per person for seat allocation. We will do seat allocation online at the time of booking and include the seat selection fee in our all inclusive price. Unlike Air Asia, all seats on Citilink flights cost the same, including front row and exit row.
FLIGHT RECONFIRMATION
1. Go to the Citilink webpage ( http://www.citilink.co.id ) and select English as the language option.
2. Under the “Booking” option, choose “Manage My Booking”.
2. Enter your last name and 6-digit booking code, then click “Logon”. Your ticket will appear.
Please note:
(i) If you click “Email Itinerary” it will come to us, not to you.
(ii) If you want to print your tickets, the formatting looks “right” only in Internet Explorer, not using other web browsers.
ONLINE CHECK-IN

FLIGHT RECONFIRMATION
1. Go to the Garuda homepage: http://www.garuda-indonesia.com/
2. Click on the “Check my flight” tab, between “Book Flight” and “Check In”.
3. In the middle, there is a heading “Booking Status”. Enter the booking code there and click on “Check”. The latest flight details will appear in a plain text format.
ONLINE CHECK-IN
1. Go to this webpage: http://www.garuda-indonesia.com/wci/
2. Follow the instructions as described step by step on the website.
FLIGHT RECONFIRMATION
1. Go to the Lion Air Retrieve Booking Page here:
https://secure2.lionair.co.id/lionairpnr/pnrstatus.aspx
2. Enter the 6 digit booking code, along with one passenger’s first names and last name; the flight number and date are NOT required. Click “Retrieve”.
3. The tickets will appear, with each passengers in the same file on page 1, 3, 5 , etc. The client can save it or print it directly.
ONLINE CHECK-IN
1. Go to this website: https://secure2.lionair.co.id/LionWebCheckin/
2. Follow the instructions as described step by step on the website.
FLIGHT RECONFIRMATION
1. Go to the Merpati homepage: http://www.merpati.co.id
2. Click the “English” flag in the top right corner.
3. Click on “Booking” (on the left of the green menu bar), then “My Booking”.
4. Enter your family name and booking code, then click “Logon”. Your ticket will appear.
Please note:

4. Enter your last name and booking code, then click on “OK”. Please note: Sriwijaya Air booking codes are only 5 digits. The tickets will appear.
